The ancient Indian epic Mahabharata, is the longest epic poem known to have been ever written with over 1lakh + slokas. It describes the struggle for sovereignty between two groups of cousins, the Kauravas (sons of Dhritarashtra, the descendant of Kuru) and the Pandavas (sons of Pandu) and the Battle of Kurukshetra. The is a very common saying in sanskrit “Bharatam Panchama Veda:”, meaning, Mahabharata is the fifth veda. Mahabharata (महाभारतम्) is one of the two important epics of ancient India, written in Sanskrit by sage Veda Vyasa. Take up this concise course to start your Journey in knowing about Mahabharata.
